This is a romantic white lace dress from the 1950s or 1960s - full of femininity. Perfect for a vintage wedding or rehearsal dinner. So many exquisite details – such as the capelet which moves so beautifully and adds a peplum effect to the waist. The lace overlay is gorgeous and has the tiniest touch of off-white which really helps it pop against the white under layer. The lace is a bit stiffer than you normally find for lace which is what allows it to have the structure for the cape and peplum effect. Fits like a modern extra small - there is not a lot of stretch so check measurements below carefully!
No pockets, a back metal zipper and hook and eye closure.
The dress is in good vintage condition overall with a few things to note. There are 2 spots of staining – one just below the right hand and one near the inner left thigh. Both are mildly visible when wearing and are pictured in the last photo. These stains may come out with a dry-cleaning or a careful stain removal job. I highly recommend dry-cleaning this item and have reduced the price to reflect this – the dress was stored for many years in a plastic bag which imparted a slightly acrid plastic smell to the dress. It has gotten better as it aired out, but it still needs a dry cleaning.
A little work and acceptance of age and this dress will be ready for a rocking party!
All of our measurements are taken on the outside of the garment while it is lying flat.
